About Care & Repair

Care & Repair is a free and independent service designed to improve the quality of housing for older people or people with disabilities.

We can offer the following services:-

A home visit can be arranged to discuss the Care and Repair service in more detail. South Ayrshire Care and Repair operates a waiting list and people will be visited in order of their enquiry date. However as our aim is to help the most vulnerable within our community we will prioritise the most vulnerable, irrespective of age, if they are:

referred by a social worker
referred by a health professional, such as a GP, district nurse etc.
referred by occupational therapy
over 60 who are a victim of crime referred to us by the police.

If any of the above applies to you, please let us know and we will request a referral as appropriate.

In order that we are able to offer a service to as many people as possible there is a limit on the number of times the service can be used in one year. This will be explained in more detail on a home visit.
